Project 1

My first piece of work is a project focusing on graphic simplification. My assignment was to choose three objects that all fit within a common theme, and then to created simplified icons of those graphics. I chose the theme "Audio/Visual", and the icons I created are 1) Stage lighting, 2) A sound board and a microphone, and 3) A set of speakers.

Project 2

My second piece of work is a project where I made a "postcard" from a real or fictional location. The assignment was to do so using only construction paper and either mounting tape or foam core. I chose the fictional city of Asgard as my location, and chose to focus on the magnificent palace that dominates the Asgardian skyline.

Project 3

My third piece of work is a project focusing on typography. The assignment was to make a poster than contained two contrasting statements about students and designers. I chose the statements "Students are in a hurry to finish" and "Designers are in a hurry to learn". I then chose a few elements to add to the poster that I felt related to the statements.

Project 4

My next three pieces are all part of one project. My assignment for this project was to read a short book and then choose three statements from the book that resonated with me. I was to then create a graphic, physically or digitally, that contained the statement. The first, on the right, contains the statement "Keep a praise file" and a stick man pulling out one such file.

Project 5

The second statement I chose for this project was "Creativity is subtraction". In this graphic, I chose to leave out any elements that would have been in addition ot the text. I did this because I thought it worked as an illustration of the statement.

Project 6

In the final graphic for this project, I chose the statement "Practice productive procrastination". Along with this statement is a little stick man enjoying spending his time wisely by sketching. These three graphics were created to be similar and to work as a series.
